Faced with the global trend of green and low-carbon development, the construction industry is stepping into a new phase of transformation. On May 14, CENTER INT Group Co., Ltd. (CENTER INT) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Corp., Ltd. (CSWADI). The two sides will leverage their respective resources and technological strengths to conduct all-round in-depth cooperation in low-carbon buildings and Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV). This powerful partnership will spearhead innovation and transformation within the green building sector.

Founded in 1950, CSWADI is one of China’s earliest, most comprehensive and largest state-owned Class A architectural design institutes under China State Construction Engineering Corporation. With over 70 years of experience, it upholds the philosophy of "Exquisite Design for Public Service". The institute has delivered more than 10,000 engineering design projects across over 20 countries and regions worldwide, and earned over 2,200 awards at provincial, ministerial and higher levels, including 5 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze national excellence awards. As a comprehensive group offering planning, consulting, design and EPC services, it enjoys solid strength and an excellent reputation across the industry.
Established in 2001, CENTER INT is the only main-board listed high-tech enterprise specializing in building metal envelope systems. It has been recognized as a National High-tech Enterprise, a National Specialized, Refined, Differential and Innovative "Little Giant" Enterprise, and one of Beijing’s first national-level Hidden Champion enterprises. The company has received prestigious industry awards such as the Luban Prize and Jinyu Prize. Its business covers four major segments: building metal envelope systems, BIPV, integrated PV-energy storage-charging solutions and ecological governance.
To date, CENTER INT has completed over 3,800 projects and provided overall metal envelope solutions for key national facilities including airports, national exhibition centers and high-speed railway stations. Working closely with LONGi, the company has developed a complete BIPV product system and undertaken more than 1,000 BIPV projects, holding a domestic market share of over 60%. Teaming up with Lingong Heavy Machinery and Huawei Digital Energy, it has ventured into the integrated PV-storage-charging field and built the world’s first demonstration station of this kind, forming a full industrial chain covering power generation, energy storage, charging and energy management.
This strategic cooperation is a major move for both parties to follow industry trends and fulfill the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, as well as a vivid practice of deep integration between industry and research for collaborative innovation.
The two sides will cooperate comprehensively in five core areas:
Technology R&D and Project Application: Jointly develop cutting-edge technologies including BIPV, near-zero energy buildings and intelligent roofing systems. They will focus on BIPV and PV-storage-charging solutions for civil aviation airports, participate in the formulation of industrial standards and jointly apply for national key R&D programs.
Integrated BIPV Application: Promote integrated design of BIPV systems for public buildings and urban facades, and tackle key technical challenges such as roof waterproofing.
Envelope System Implementation: Deepen cooperation in low-carbon design and construction of envelope systems for airports and public buildings.
Low-carbon Services for Urban Renewal: Jointly carry out low-carbon planning and design for urban renewal, and deliver green and low-carbon system solutions for building rooftops and facades.
Industrial Exchange: Strengthen technical exchanges and academic seminars on green and low-carbon technologies to consolidate their leading positions in the industry.
Moving forward, both parties will take this partnership as a new starting point. Adhering to the principles of leveraging respective strengths, sharing resources, pursuing open cooperation and mutual benefits, CSWADI will give full play to its advantages in design and R&D, while CENTER INT will exert its capabilities in technical implementation and project delivery. They will create a number of benchmark demonstration projects and explore replicable and promotable development models for green and low-carbon buildings.
Jointly, the two sides will advance the green transformation of the construction sector, inject strong momentum into the delivery of China’s dual carbon goals and the development of a beautiful China, and write a new chapter for the high-quality development of green buildings.
