Guangzhou Solvent Plant Site Remediation Project

Project Profile: This site was primarily engaged in the production of formaldehyde solution, ethyl acetate, and butyl acetate. In response to Guangzhou's "relocating secondary industries and promoting tertiary industries" policy, it was fully shut down in January 2015. Equipment was dismantled in May 2016, and building demolition began in June 2016. All industrial equipment within the site has now been removed.

Primary Contaminants: Heavy Metals, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) & Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs), Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (C10-C40)

Technical Approach: Ex-situ Thermal Desorption, Soil Washing for Volume Reduction, Ambient Temperature Desorption, Off-site Disposal, Groundwater Pump-and-Treat Technology
